The IPSANZ Professional Mentoring Program provides a unique opportunity for emerging professionals in the field of intellectual property law to connect with experienced mentors. This launch event for the 2026 program in NSW will provide an opportunity for mentors and mentees to meet in-person and network with other participants in the program.
We are delighted to host the Honourable John Nicholas SC, to discuss his views on the importance of mentoring relationships, and career advice based on his experience.
SPECIAL GUEST: The Honourable John Nicholas SC, Nigel Bowen Chambers
The Honourable John Nicholas SC was admitted to the Bar in 1987 and appointed Senior Counsel in 2001. In 2009 he was appointed a Judge of the Federal Court of Australia, holding that office for more than 15 years. At the Bar he had a broad practice in the field of commercial law including intellectual property law. As a Judge he presided in a wide range of cases both at trial and on appeal, including many significant intellectual property cases in the patent, trade mark and copyright fields. He is now an honorary member of Nigel Bowen Chambers working as a mediator, arbitrator and court appointed referee.
