Session 1 of the IPSANZ NSW 'IP Junior Practitioner Series' 2026.
TOPIC IN BRIEF: This session is directed to those in the earlier stages of their IP career, and is an opportunity to further develop practical skills for everyday IP practice and meet others in the industry. The session will touch on a variety of topics related to discovery, including preliminary discovery, notices to produce and privilege, and will be held in-person only to facilitate networking and engagement. The session will run from 5:30-7:30pm to allow for networking and refreshments before and after the presentation, which will run from 6-7pm.
SPEAKER: Gilbert Tsang, Barrister, Nigel Bowen Chambers
Gilbert practices in all areas of commercial law, including all areas of intellectual property. Gilbert is regularly briefed to appear in intellectual property matters, including in proceedings concerning patents, trade marks, copyright, breach of confidence and misleading or deceptive conduct. He has appeared in all Federal courts, including the High Court of Australia, and has appeared unled at final hearings in a range of disputes in the Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court and in matters before IP Australia.
